Amputee Surf Day 2017

On Saturday 28th October 2017 Össur and the Newcastle Surf School hosted the third Amputee Surf Day held for the first time in Nobbys Beach, Newcastle.

Joined by Adaptive Surfer Champion, Jade 'Red' Wheatley, Surf Day was a great day out for amputees of all ages and surfing abilities to come together and take part in a free surfing lesson.

Winner of a new Össur surfboard was first time surfer, Emilee, who had her right leg amputated above knee at 9 months old. Her positive attitude and enthusiasm to tackle every wave made her a well-deserved recipient of the SLD custom-shaped surfboard.

Thank you to all who attended this year's Surf Day, and we can't wait to see you all again next year! Check out below the photos on the day.
